Plagiarism policy

The editorial board of the journal "Ecology and Noospherology" accepts only original scientific articles that have not been published before and have not been submitted for publication in another journal.

The editorial board of the journal "Ecology and Noospherology" uses the software: Detector Plagiarist, Antiplagiat to identify textual borrowings in the submitted articles. Manuscripts that have found plagiarism or textual borrowing without proper references to the original source are rejected by the editorial board before the journal article is published.

Plagiarism before publication

The editorial board of the journal "Ecology and Noospherology" analyzes each case of plagiarism by its nature. If plagiarism or textual borrowing is identified by editors or reviewers at any stage prior to the publication of the manuscript, the author or authors are advised to refer to the source. If plagiarism is considered to be more than 25% of the volume of the submitted manuscript, the article may be rejected and the author's institution / employer informed.

Plagiarism Check Policy

Manuscripts in which plagiarism is detected are processed in view of the amount of plagiarism found in the manuscript: if less than 25% of plagiarism, the manuscript is sent to authors for content review, and if more than 25% of plagiarism, the manuscript is rejected without editorial review. Authors are encouraged to review the manuscripts and plagiarism of the manuscript and resubmit the new manuscript.

The share of plagiarism is calculated by the software and is also evaluated separately by the editorial board.

Plagiarism after publication

If plagiarism is detected after publication, then the editorial board should analyze this fact. The journal editors contact the author or authors. Plagiarized pages are accordingly indicated in the pdf file on the journal site. Depending on the extent of plagiarism, the document may be removed from the journal's website by decision of the editorial board.

 Recommendations for avoiding plagiarism

Use quotation marks for words taken literally from the Ukrainian source.

  • Do not change the quotation in the context of the sentence.
  • Use separate characters for quotation in quotation.
  • Use three dots (space and three dots) for the omitted quote section.
  • Use parentheses to add your own words.
  • Limit the use of direct quotes.

Try to paraphrase or summarize information from different sources using your own words.

Authors are responsible for obtaining copyright permission to reproduce illustrations, tables, figures taken from other authors and / or sources. The permit must be placed at the bottom below each element.

Some authors may write multiple sections for several different books that are only slightly modified. Each manuscript is copyrighted after its publication. Since the author no longer owns the rights to these sections, they should not be repeated. Most editors and reviewers argue that auto-plagiarism is unethical. Therefore, an author cannot copy their own material for a new manuscript without the permission of the copyright owner. The exception may be to quote short phrases of the author from his own work, indicating the relevant links.
